ENGINEERING OPPORTUNITIES

For your institution

With Dr. Ahmed Abdelalim

You see what the institution can already do with the people and money it has, and what it is not yet looking at.

For the senior table. We start with what can be carried now, then name the capability, the opportunity, and the funding that are still outside the building.

Who it is for

Senior leadership: the people who can say yes to a change in how the institution works.

One institution, looked at as a whole. Not a single team, and not a tool demonstration.

Why now

Most of the effort is treated as a technology purchase. The institution then discovers that the people and the way of working were the larger part, and that it cannot see the next capability from inside the building alone.

BCG, on 4 February 2026, wrote from its case work that about 10% of AI value comes from the algorithms, about 20% from the technology needed to implement them, and the remaining 70% from rethinking people and how work is done. In the same piece, about 5% of organizations were taking substantial financial gains, and the companies BCG calls future-built plan to upskill more than 50% of employees, against 20% among laggards.

How it runs

  1. 01

    Before

Five questions about what the institution can carry now, and what it keeps missing.

    1. What can your teams finish this month without a new budget?
    2. Which repeated procedure still eats the leadership's week?
    3. Which capability do you need and do not have inside the house?
    4. Which outside opportunity have you heard of and never examined?
    5. What, if it is still unseen in ninety days, should be dropped?
  2. 02

    Inside

We map the work that current people and current money can already change. Then we name what is not visible from inside: a capability, an opportunity, or a route to funding. No outside party is contacted in the session, and none is promised.

  3. 03

    After

After 30 days we look at what the institution actually started with its own resources, and which of the outside items it chose to pursue. Pursuit is not a deal. No partner is named because no partner exists.

What you leave with

  • A map of what can be done with the people and money already in the building.
  • A short list of what the leadership is not seeing: capability, opportunity, funding route.
  • A first move that does not wait for an outside party, and a second move that does not pretend one is already there.

Short questions

Do you bring funding or a partner to the first session?

No. The first work is what you can already do. Outside capability, opportunity, and funding are named as a search, not as a deal.

Is the 70% figure your result?

No. It is BCG's, from the article linked on this page. We have held no masterclass, so we have no result of our own to show.
